Anne Pentland received her bachelor’s degree in studio art from UC Davis in 1987, studying under such noted artists as Robert Arneson, Manuel Neri and Wayne Thiebaud. She teaches art at Calistoga Elementary School (1995-present) and was art director for the Calistoga Education Foundation Benefit Auction for eight years (1998-2005). She was selected as Visuals Chair for the Napa Valley Wine Auction and commissioned to design the poster in 2002. In 2003 she completed a series of three large mosaic murals at the Calistoga Elementary School (a three year project that included student work). She received a commission for 9 large decorative panels for the Calistoga Chamber of Commerce Jazz and Blues Festival in 2004. In 2005 she designed the label for a new wine brand called "Starfish" Pinot Noir. She works in pastel, watercolor, acrylic, oil, and clay. Much of her recent work centers on women, instruments, cats and flowers in an expressionistic manner. Anne is a member of the Arts Council of Napa Valley and participates in Open Studios in the fall. Her work is displayed at Jessel Gallery in Napa and Main Element in Calistoga. SHOWS:
